Lipstick Swatch: MAC Keepsakes Red Lip Bag - Ruby Woo!

Hey Girls!

I hope you all have had a lovely Christmas and New Year's celebrations. Today, I have a set from MAC which was released just before Christmas. Released alongside other sets such as the Nude Lip bag and the Smokey Eye bag, the Red Lip bag contains three items in limited edition packaging. It contains a lipliner, lipstick and lipglass in the ubiquitous shade Ruby Woo. A lot of people were excited because there currently isn't a lip pencil specifically for Ruby Woo; Cherry is the best match from the permanent MAC lip pencil line.

Here is the lipliner just by itself - it's fairly dry and unforgiving by itself, so a primer or lip balm beforehand is an essential step.
With the Ruby Woo lipstick over lipliner. It's very matte, but I didn't have any problems with it being uncomfortable. You can see a few flakes on my lips, so exfoliation is essential in addition to having well-moisturized lips before using these products.
With the lipglass over the top. I'm personally not a glossy lip girl (matte all the way!) as I just find it so sticky and it gets all over everything. I also find it significantly reduces the wear time of lipsticks. However, the gloss will probably make the entire look much more comfortable to wear for those who are not used to matte lipsticks.
From left to right - lip pencil, lipstick, lipglass. You can see that the lipliner and the lipstick are fairly good matches. Overall, I'd say that this is a pretty great set if you want to try Ruby Woo for the first time!  One of the only drawbacks is that it comes in a white bag - it's pretty, but it's definitely going to appear dirty quite quickly over time.

Did you pick up any of the MAC Keepsakes sets?
